Pros

There were a few pros to working at this company. Some of the people there were very kind, genuine, and wanted to work. In a city with limited technology jobs it was one of a handful. Several quick raises. The products that they provide, functionally, are good. They are always looking for someone to work there. Lastly it was experience that stood out on a resume.

Cons

From the beginning they will start you at a salary that would make you laugh. They make promises of you having the ability to rise high in the organization quickly, because they are a start up (founded 2000). The ability to rise in the organization is strongly related to them being able to keep employees there. Ha. Any lateral movement across functions in the company is practically impossible unless it is to sales. The owners ignore giving employees empowerment. The CEO will blame you first before taking responsibility for his mistakes. Their ping pong table, that I had to walk around every day to get in the door, was only used as a recruiting ploy. You would get in trouble for playing on it even during a break. Management would not confirm that I worked there and would not talk to me or return my calls after I left making it difficult to prove I worked there.

Pros

Only pro I could give would be that their product is pretty good, or at least the product I was given authority to see.

Cons

This company has MAJOR trust issues and will take your hard working efforts and diminish them, as if you were absolutely clueless. The CEO & CTO are husband and wife. The CTO is also the companies Board President. Without going into great detail, the biggest thing I can say is that the negative reviews that are associated with this company are very true and extremely accurate. The lack of trust and the extreme micro-management is absolutely awful. The continued disregard about employees mentioning a hostile and toxic work environment, shows lack of respect. As an employee, contractor, or anything else, please be aware that you accepting to work for or with this company, will ultimately challenge you to choose between staying at a job to pay the bills or continue to allow for mental instability from the awful environment. They will claim that their pay and benefits are greatly competitive, but in this market and in this industry, they are not at all. I wish you the best in your decision making!

Pros

You'll learn how management SHOULD NOT work. You'll learn not to trust your boss. You'll learn to avoid customer questions because you can't tell them the truth . You'll learn to take an insult and keep working. You'll learn to keep your head down and be silent while others are being chastised. You'll learn that a "productive" work environment includes silence and barely acknowledging your coworkers.

Cons

Seriously, though, it was a miserable job. I liked my coworkers, although I barely got to know them because if you exchanged more than a couple of sentences that weren't work related, one of the bosses would suddenly appear to ask if you needed anything. That was the only time they did that. A few long-term employees try to make excuses for the owners and say that they mean well or that they're trying to get better. But it's not enough to make up for the way they treat people. They do serve cake on birthdays. And I guess that's a benefit. And they talk about a wonderful future and how much money we'll all have some day. And that sounds nice. Meanwhile, you're broke, overworked, underappreciated, and miserable while you go about your work and try to avoid the owner's direct attention.
