    Pros

Great team, interesting strategy work, connection to broader PwC business but retains small team feel within strategy&

    Cons

Strategy& brand is still relatively new (lost Booz brand after PwC acquisition)

    Advice to Management

Further investment required in the Strategy& brand

I worked at Strategy& full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get a fancy name on your CV and a bunch of friends to share your misery with. You can have decent exit opportunities unless you want to exit consulting.

    Cons

Work is very repetitive and not family friendly - especially when doing due diligence. You have a steep learning for 6 months and then nothing, except heavy workload. Engagement managers are told to do everything (managing projects, finding projects, mentor team members). VIPs in the organisation have unfortunately created a hostile environment and never had a reality check with HR for their management style.... It goes from negative comments on dress code to clear threats that you will not be staffed unless you agree with partners' direction/project content. Coming out of MBA where debates and respect among students were mandatory, I got shocked by a sheep mentality and a certain bully culture that was tolerated in the firm. HR could not provide any help, "it has always been this way, and current partners learned it from previous partners" was their only response. The limited recruitment pool in London (MBA & Oxbridge) is certainly not helping.

    Advice to Management

You will be disrupted like the legal industry. If you want to continue, you need to stop pushing billing per hour and start focus on technology. But that requires questioning.

I have been working at Strategy& full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Able to work with some of the most ambitious and intelligent people, in particular at the more junior grades - Access to both UK and international projects where there is the chance to work across the Strategy& network internationally - Good mixture of short 8-12 week "typical strategy" projects with longer time horizons - Strong culture of promoting honesty and supporting each other with personal development -... Decent pay

    Cons

    - Can be very long hours right from the start - Can be bureaucratic in some internal processes due to integration into much larger company

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Strategy& full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Limited travel (but I am based in London and covering FS) - So far, decent work life balance (I transferred from the NY office to London) - Strong growth of business in UK and globally

    Cons

    - brain drain after acquisition of Booz - a lot of bureaucracy and compliance because of PwC - not welcoming to experienced hires; no system to integrate new colleagues - spotty industry / content coverage - Very varied quality of leadership / senior management - so far, very poor professional development - not systematic and highly dependent on which Director/Partner ends up overseeing your career progression
