Cons
Any reviews on here with 5 starts with generic comments are intentionally planted by HR. This institution practices an aggressive for-profit recruiting model. There is absolutely nothing more important than hitting enrollment goals without regard to student quality. The role of an “admissions advisor” is completely misleading! People in admissions are sales representatives accountable to hit a specific number of enrollments every recruiting period. The entire department structure is flawed because their salespeople can’t get commissions or bonuses for hitting enrollment goals due to Department of Education restrictions. But their performance is evaluated based on hitting those enrollment goals. And, when those numbers are not on-point with management’s expectations, termination is eminent after ineffective sales coaching by management. Seasoned staff members in the department are institutionalized casualties of generations of futile and toxic management. Any talented hires have come and gone after realizing the cruel truth about the culture. People employed for many years at this institution feel stuck and have no aspirations for growth nor would have opportunities at other higher education institutions. Sullivan University has no strategic plan in place to serve students. They are only focused on enrollment numbers just like a business pushing product to the market. Without a doubt, this institution is a black hole for talent. If anyone is interested in working for Sullivan University, especially in the admissions department, should know what to expect and make the best out of their experience while they are employed and move on after getting what they need to advance in their careers. Other than that, this is not a long-term place of employment.
