Pros
Largest oil company in Canada where an employer is able to develop professionally through experience from world class professionals
Cons
As may be found in other organizations, your progress and job security depends wholly on your leader and not the HR department irrespective of your yearly performance.
Advice to Management
The above cons should be viewed seriously for a remedy, to save so many hardworking employees, who may be victims of unfair treatment by their leaders

Pros
Safety is treated as a core value. Great comp package and fair evaluation structure. Great mentoring options and ability to get exposure to massive projects/portfolios. Excellent top leadership (Dir & above)
Cons
Very top heavy. Progression is age biased, expect to wait it out unless you opt to spend half a decade in Base Plan (F'mac) Lacking a healthy social culture.
Advice to Management
Make progression performance based not age based. Adjust band levels based on performance and not based on years of service.

Pros
Good experience for a keen engineer. Various leadership allows you to grow with minimal supervision. The overall performance expectations are high, driving excellence in everything you do. Life balance is great if you make the time to go to the gym in the downtown building, and lots of opportunities to volunteer and give back time and money to various charities. Great people. Some people can be lemons so stay... clear if you can or learn how to work with those who are a bit less empathetic. Hours are generally flexible depending on your boss.

Company does not encourage your growth. You can only grow yourself and you need to be good friends with your boss before they allow you to apply elsewhere. Pay is not as outrageous as other petrochemical companies - so if you want more moolah go to another international form. Bonus is only competitive if you get a strong or excellent testing that year. Company parties are scattered and different teams get... different benefits in regards to golf tournaments or Christmas parties. Company wide parties typically lack overall excitement. I.e. christmas party get your gift and food and get out.

Lots of opportunities, exposure to multi-discipline engineering, learn from senior employees with lots of past experience in the industry

reorganize teams make it hard to excel in one task or project; once you become familiar with the project, they move you to another teams so its hard to implement projects.

Pros
great place for new grad and student networking. Good pay, friendly staff and atmosphere
Cons
assessment isn't necessarily based on performance but your boss, his appreciation for your work, your relationship and his ability to provide visibility to your work and performance using his political influence. So you will need to align yourself with the right people. Internship doesn't guarantee anything, because there are so many interns at every given quarter. it's a good way to reduce salary expense
Advice to Management
Ensure that interns actually get mentored and not simply used without any real skills or projects

Pros
Structured towards your learning, development, and further opportunities. They do not limit your career unless you are incompetent and want to see you in upper management positions. A lot of great working teams to keep working fun. Job satisfaction
Cons
Chase your own tail bureaucracy that requires a ridiculous amount of by in to get things done
Advice to Management
Allow people to go out on a limb and make easy decisions instead of involving a plethora of people of all departments
