I worked at Superdry part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They pay £7.20 which is good for students and opportunities for pay increases.
They give people without retail experience a chance and it doesn't matter what you look like or how you dress
    50% discount
    Uniform allowance twice a year
Good chance of progression as they tend to hire management and VMs internally
    Informative training scheme

    Cons

Can be very quiet with little customers so it can become very boring
    Music can be repetitive
    Lack of trust
Not a lot of extra hours available
Always trying to push people to progress and consider a career in Superdry which can be annoying if you're a student and only there for the extra cash
Can start quite early on a Sunday which is a pain if you don't drive
You can get a lot of shoplifters and not very nice customers
Training can take a while to be given to new starts

    Advice to Management

Communicate between yourselves better regarding staff issues
Trust your staff - you can't leave them to their own devices and then not give them more responsibility
Stop hiring students if you want staff who will progress in the company.
Be more approachable and trustworthy, listen to your staff and get them out of work on time

I worked at Superdry part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Positive working environment. Realistic sales targets are set daily that staff can work towards.
    - Real togetherness of shopfloor staff.
    - 50% staff discount on clothing items.
    - Opportunities are provided to staff to voice opinions concerning store layouts and offer strategies to increase store revenue.

    Cons

    - Minimum wage pay (other retailers offer greater financial incentives).
    - Expected to arrive 20 minutes before shift for an unpaid 15 minute briefing. Realistically, the briefing lasts 2 minutes and you're expected to work unpaid for the rest. Doing this a few times a week soon adds up to a few hundred pounds unpaid work each year, a pittance to the company but makes a difference to an employee earning minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

    - Continue with daily sales targets, consider offering greater incentive to staff that are generating greater sales and exceeding customer engagement targets. This should be broken down relevant to hours worked each week, rather than full-time staff having a significant advantage.

    Pros

Great place to work, uniform allowance, a lot of support from management.

    Cons

Like any other retail environment it becomes a bit of a routine and chore but Superdry aim to teach you various things about the company and give incentives daily so you have something to aim for each day.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people who are not at university and have no goals in life because they will be the only loyal ones.

I worked at Superdry full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Have invested in infastructure, resources and facilities which is fantastic. Have pulled together to work as a team across departments and this has passed down to stores. Fast paced business with strong communication and will help store teams develop rather than let them sink. Feels like one big family.

    Cons

Business strategy has altered frequently and it can feel like lots of short term solutions to compensate for this. Although there is an attempt to strategise long term things can get sprung on stores with not much time to plan.

    Advice to Management

Give store teams the resources they need, sometimes it feels like staff are spread too thin to achieve what is needed (sometimes expected).
