  1. "Great Experience, Great Pay"

I have been working at Swifto Dog Walking part-time

    Pros

I was paid over £50 a day to take student tour groups around London. The management was very well organised and very friendly.

    Cons

Sometimes the kids were a bit of a handful, especially when it was rush hour on the tube.

  2. COVID-19

"Really great experience if you love dogs."

I worked at Swifto Dog Walking full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I loved many of the dogs I walked ( I still think about how many of them are doing), and had a great time the year that I worked with them. (pre-pandemic) I would recommend it if you are willing to be responsible because it is really rewarding. (Please don't be those walkers that do this if you dont care. I once saw a blind dog that I would walk sometimes, being walked by someone else who was on their phone and the BLIND dog ran into a doorway... don't be that person) Scheduling is 100% flexible to your schedule.

    Cons

Weather isn't always fun to deal with, but I went into this knowing it would be what it was, and you learn to cope pretty easy. Don't let it scare you off. You kind of have to keep dogs that you have issues with unless it is a danger to you or themselves. There are very few exceptions. It's one of those things though that you can learn to deal with and it can become a positive experience for you though. Pay is not the best, but definitely not the worst. (Plus some clients will tip)

I have been working at Swifto Dog Walking part-time for more than a year

    Pros

being a w2 employee. not much else.

    Cons

There is little regard for you as a valued employee, let alone a human being. You are treated and communicated with like a robot whose only purpose is to make sure dogs poo and pee. all the communication is soullessly delivered over text as a means of dampening serious feedback and discussion.

    Swifto Dog Walking Response

    March 3, 2020CEO and Founder

I'm honestly not sure why you would think that communication is only via text. By all means that's not the case, and we invite our walkers to communicate with us via phone or even in person whenever we see a need. Yes, if it's just little things like a scheduling change etc, it's just more efficient to do so via text, and if as a walker you do try to call right when it gets super busy you may feel like we don't have much time to talk which may be the case, but that doesn't mean we don't ever want to talk to you and I'm very sorry to hear that you felt that way. In general towards the end of the day things are more quiet, but if ever you do want to discuss, just let us know and we will be happy to give you a call at a time that's convenient. As to walks being cancelled, we do have the policy that you are payed if it's less than 24 hours notice, but I understand that also future cancellations can be frustrating without knowing the reason why. We will take that into consideration and speed up a feature we had in mind where we can indicate in a field the reason for the cancellation so you can understand why. As to weather, unfortunately we do have to provide walks in all weather, and so long as the city of NY deems it safe to be outside we do have to provide dog walking. I hope you understand that as a company we can't just pick and choose what days we want to work since our clients are in fact relying on us. But that doesn't mean we don't care, we actually gave our clients leeway to cancel later on that day in hopes that more will cancel so you won't have to be out as much in the snow.

I have been working at Swifto Dog Walking part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I love working for Swifto, they are really very caring and work with you in getting you dog walks that work for you and your schedule. You can pick the walks that can work for you and they keep communication with you always so that you always updated and informed. I love the fact that when you walk a dog, there is GPS and you can communicate with dog owners about their babies, the owners know their little ones are taken care of and they can monitor their dog's walk and be given progress reports. Highly recommended.

    Cons

No Cons. Maybe a suggestion if walkers could meet to share stories, techniques or ideas?
