Pros

Not much to include other than the benefits and weak bonus structure

If you’re reading this review then chances are you're looking to make a change in your career that will ultimately further enhance your professional development; unfortunately you won’t find it with this organization. I decided to write this at the urging of current and former employees to share my experience during my time with the organization. Most if not all of the reviews are dishonest and written by employees at the request of management. Instead of wasting time and resources to deceive new prospects, Synergy should focus more on developing and harboring a positive work environment where employees can have fun and feel appreciated. The biggest issue with this organization is management’s treatment of its employees. The culture was very toxic due in large to employees being constantly deceived and disrespected by management. Leadership was very incompetent and incapable of putting employees in the best positions to succeed which led to a high turnover rate. Job security did not exist as employees were getting laid off frequently even though they will tell you otherwise during the interviewing stages. There was no synergy (pun absolutely intended) within the organization because each individual was working in silo in their own island and management did not know how to engage their staff. Leadership didn’t know how to properly train and develop the talent and employees were constantly put in positions that did not tailor to their strengths. Although I was acknowledged for my work and respected by management, the same could not be said for the majority of the employees because favoritism definitely existed within the organization.

Pros

Small company, very good health benefits, free snacks and soda.

Cons

CEO is an extreme micro-manager. Everything is a crisis and results are expected right away, despite the fact there are many top priority items on your plate already. Direction changes by the hour! It's like the vortex of a tornado.

Pros

The management drives expensive cars. Lowest bidder.

Cons

High deductible health care plans. Only two weeks of vacation. Massive pay cut. and and a very very rude and unprofessional interview process. This company clearly just wants to win work with the intent of offshoring the work to their friends in India. They really have no business taking on gov't contracts.

We apologize that you had an unpleasant experience. We understand the change-over from the incumbent company to our company as the prime contractor was a stressful time for all parties involved. Due to the nature and timing of contract award, we had a very short time to prepare. Though we tried our best to provide the deserved attention to every candidate, sometimes we were pressed for time, which might have made us appear impolite. This was certainly not our intention. As you are a current employee, you must have met the persons who were conducting the interviews while working with Synergy. If you still think they have been impolite or disrespectful, we strongly suggest using the anonymous suggestion box in your work location to express your concern. Employee satisfaction is one of the most important principles of our company, as we believe that only happy employees can make our customers happy. Synergy is committed to creating an environment that promotes diversity from every aspect – gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, US Veteran status, or national origin. If you feel that you or any of your colleagues are currently being, or have previously been discriminated against, we encourage you to bring it to the attention of the Human Resources department right away. Our company offers 2 health care plans for our employees to choose from: A traditional EPO plan without an HSA, and a high deductible health care plan with and HSA. To offset the cost of the high deductible, our company contributes 50% of the deductible annually and if you contribute any amount that’s tax deductible. These types of plans are becoming very popular as the unused HSA dollars belong to you. This can be used for future healthcare needs. We are open to suggestions for alternative medical plans, and suggestions can be submitted to the Human Resources department. We take employee satisfaction very seriously and realize that taking a pay cut is extremely difficult for anyone. During the transition, most of our employees got their current salary or higher. We have looked at the salaries again last quarter and made some adjustments. As a general practice, we look at everyone’s compensation every quarter and adjust whenever we can. If you still have a lower than before compensation, please approach your manager if you have concerns and we guarantee to take that into serious consideration. All employees received at least 3 weeks (15 days) of paid time off, and we encourage employees to use their earned PTO to promote a healthy work/life balance. All the work performed on this contract is to be performed at either the Kearneysville, WV location, or the Chesapeake, VA location. No work will be performed outside the USA. For any candidate or current employee, the HR Director is available to address any accusations of discrimination, sexual harassment, etc. experienced before or during the onboarding.
