Pros

They make the opportunity sound great during the interview process. I was confident I made a good decision taking the taco bell job instead of the higher paying Krystal GM job.

Cons

HOURS ARE TERRIBLE. While awaiting a GM position I was an assistant. I closed, 4am, not home 'till 5:30 am. 3 weeknights and opened both Saturday and Sunday. My off Days were Tue. and Thu. So, my only off days off were spent exhausted or sleeping, I was cranky and miserable for 8 months effecting my home life. One Saturday I got a call from my wife needing me to come home 2 hours early. The closing manager would be there, I worked my tail off setting him up and had made labor all day. when I asked if he minded me going he said " sure, thanks for setting me up. " Opened Sunday, closed Monday and saw I was scheduled 5pm to 5am to make up for the two hours I missed. The thought of 12 hours making food on the line pushed me to do something I had never done before. I quit and walked out. I was threatened with "you'll never be able to work for Tacala again." That part of the story I should put in the "PROS" section.

Decent pay for entry level position in comparison to other companies.

Still don’t get paid enough to offset cost of living.

Pros

Expectations are straightforward, but extremely challenging to attain. Pay is fair and competitive. Fast-paced, and keeps you on your toes -- there is ALWAYS something to do.

Cons

Metrics are too strict and unrealistically unattainable. Company is too cheap on labor. Austaco ran labor on a percentage scale around 21%. Tacala runs labor on a hours scale, but the problem is that sometimes this brings the percentage down as low as %10 during any given shift. That is just one of the many examples to show how cheap and penny-pinching this company is.
