I have been working at Taylor Wimpey full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Taylor Wimpey is a great organisation that is always striving to be better. For a decentralised organisation, there is a surprisingly consistent culture across all the different business units. People work hard and are rewarded for doing so. There is a huge amount of pride in getting things right and people really care about building high quality homes for our customers. For a FTSE 100 business there is less bureaucracy than you’d expect. Senior management are approachable and the lack of an obvious hierarchy is refreshing. Regardless of your role, your contribution is appreciated.

Excellent reward package and benefits including a cutting edge flexible benefits system. Head office has recently been through a fantastic refurb and technology is improving.

    Cons

No real draw backs. Industry can be quite insular but really think TW lead the way in diversity, creative thinking and innovation.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work on collaboration and effective ways to communicate across all the different businesses

Forward Thinking and Customer focused are terms rarely used to describe a PLC house builder. TW are slowly but surely breaking the mould

    Cons

Quality of the biscuits and coffee!

I have been working at Taylor Wimpey full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Have a great / inspirational CEO. Forward thinking and passionate about the business.

    Cons

Pay and package falls behind direct competitors. Share schemes are fantastic but only benefit if your planning on staying long term; so don't really balance off against the better pay smaller developers are paying.
Pete Redfern's idea of work life balance and being fair to employees is lost at grass root level, with some Regional Directors having a totally different attitude to him.
Culture of blame and bullying is being fostered in some business units.

    Advice to Management

Review the "going rate" for staff. long time employees are penalised for staying at the company
