I have been working at Taylor Wimpey full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Taylor Wimpey is a great organisation that is always striving to be better. For a decentralised organisation, there is a surprisingly consistent culture across all the different business units. People work hard and are rewarded for doing so. There is a huge amount of pride in getting things right and people really care about building high quality homes for our customers. For a FTSE 100 business there is less bureaucracy than you’d expect. Senior management are approachable and the lack of an obvious hierarchy is refreshing. Regardless of your role, your contribution is appreciated.

Excellent reward package and benefits including a cutting edge flexible benefits system. Head office has recently been through a fantastic refurb and technology is improving.

    Cons

No real draw backs. Industry can be quite insular but really think TW lead the way in diversity, creative thinking and innovation.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work on collaboration and effective ways to communicate across all the different businesses

    Pros

People work hard, they are a good bunch to work with. Feel well supported and welcome. Great management at the moment and progression within is starting to look up. Would say we have a team with a strong work ethic.

    Cons

The basic pay, it’s well below the national average, no major increase on basic, mine has increased by £600 in 3 years, other builders are offering in advance of £7000 a year more basic.

    Advice to Management

Wages need to be reviewed. Need to keep up with the times, feel like we are falling behind.
