    Decent Company

    Pros

Discount card across most groceries, extra discounts throughout the year, decent pay for the work expected, flexible, a lot of overtime shifts

    Cons

Can be quite cliquey, the staff that have been there a while do favourite some other members of staff which can be a little awkward and frustrating as a customer assistant, can sometimes have lack of support from managers when needed most i.e. short staffed

    Pros

Very flexible, good wage for the job you do, and very student friendly. Usually always overtime available. If you are interested in becoming a manager they can help quite a lot with the process.

    Cons

Some of the senior managers speak to you like you are a piece of gum on the bottom of their shoe. Unless you stand up for yourself it will continue to happen. Sometimes processes in store do not make sense - it shows a lack of communication from the board to the shop floor. Policies change every few weeks and little explanation is given as to why.

    Pros

Flexibility if you're a student Staff discount Decent enough pension Shares in the company Good banter Early day if you're full time

    Cons

Conceited management with various egos and attitude problems Sometimes treated like cattle Workplace environment can occasionally be quite toxic Pay was pretty meagre for what you had to put up with If you work hard you get taken advantage of (i.e. management just use you to do their job) You'd get punished for the bare minimum or to the absolute extreme, there's no happy medium Quality control can vary Senior regional management are probably the worst, most fake individuals I've ever met

Only care about profit and not employee’s mental health

    Pros

Colleagues the to help each other out

    Cons

Area managers constantly moving store managers around. Even during covid where it potentially affects the mental health of colleagues. Praised themselves in newspapers for giving employees a 10% bonus yet cancelled their yearly Christmas vouchers. People managers rarely talk to employees to see how they are doing. Always cutting back hours. Minimum security so feel unsafe at work.
