I have been working at Tesco Ireland

    Pros

It's a great company to work as they invest in a lot of training, wages are fair and give you stability, the shift hours can be used to run your personal life. They are very accomodating in most occasions .great pension plans and benefits. If you really are a good worker you will have a job for life as they have many career plans .

    Cons

At the moment they are recovering from a big "crash" and aren't investing that much , also they letting most of their employees on the minimum band of hours and not getting new starters .with that in mind , they taking multi skill to another level.

    Advice to Management

Give more opportunities to employees to show their talents as they might be okay in one department but be great in another .

I have been working at Tesco Ireland

    Pros

Wages are good Love the department I'm in also love been able to help customers

    Cons

To much work to do some of it is just a waste off time just to meet targets staff not treated fairly this also includes managers people get away with doing nothing and its left to the few that do to carry them don't have time to do job properly coz we get pulled to other deptments plus a few managers don't even no how to do their jobs or are just to lazy to do it and the UK gets better benefits like plenty off times... they had double discount "for all their hard work" while we didn't get one this year yet makes us feel like nothing and also make more staff feel unappreciated so they do less work products just get thrown up on the shelf no labels gotten or packed in space for another product leads to more work for stock control and systems as well as having to deal with the customers been overcharged

    Advice to Management

Managers need to be on the same page as each other some wouldn't bother saying anything if people are not working because senior management wouldn't do anything about it or agree with them because they get on with the person in question think all staff should get paid on how good they are at they're job not everyone getting paid the same when some just show up would give them something to compete for same for... managers would get a lot more out of staff also the amount of clothes and hardware that go in the bin is stupid there's plenty off charities or schools that would love that stuff for example last year count laptops then got an email down to count them again and anything that wasn't saleable to exclude from count and throw in bin there was a laptop that used to be on display but was now discontinued also one missing the charging plug they could have been giving to a charity instead. Would recommend to people to shop here as I think it's just as cheap as other supermarkets around think the company's values are just for advertising or to appease someone sitting in an office because they are not followed in store by most staff members think all staff that do not work in store should work in stores for a month every so often so they can see the difference between what they think so be happening to what is actually happening and what is achieveable same for senior team in store so they can understand how long it takes to do the work and if possible so general staff what it is that managers have to do think all staff should be trained in stock control and systems so they can understand that when they don't do something properly what work it creates for others plus the hassle for customers
