Pros

This is a great place to get your start in the cybersecurity/tech field. People are kind and helpful. It is a family company so there are some pros/cons depending on what you are looking for. Free snacks, cool people to work with, and some opportunities for growth. If this is your first gig, you should be proud of yourself! Tevora is the place to learn about yourself and your career. It is generally a younger culture, so think of a semi startup.

Cons

Now, the part that everyone always looks at heavily, the cons. As mentioned above, this is a family company therefore nepotism is rampant. One must be careful when they interact with a colleague because you never really know who they are connected to. They encourage referrals of family members and friends. Do not be surprised if someone's son/daughter/brother/sister/mother/father is on the same team. Also, don't be surprised if said referrals are not fit for the role they are hired into. Depending on your stature within the company, you can easily have your family/friend hired in without having a strong background for the role. Be prepared to work, and I mean overwork with low pay. Do not expect to be paid market value. If this is your first gig, grit your teeth and jump to a new place within a year or so. Promotions and raises are not as easy to come by. Even if you are achieving "above and beyond", they still expect even more than that. Random arbitrary milestones are set for promotion, but even if you complete them, you still have to fight tooth and nail. They tout a "promote from within culture". That is only accurate if you are on the right team. Some teams have seen massive growth. Rather than promoting from within their respective teams, they push for mass hiring through a rushed interview process. Even though the job is essentially remote, there has been a push to the office. The "return to office" wording has been communicated as "optional". Depending on your team, the term "optional" is subjective. Don't expect clear communication here. Everything has a hidden meaning, so it can cause confusion and frustration. Be wary that this company works hard to keep things under the carpet. You will not be aware of someone's departure until the last minute. If someone is fired, you most likely won't find out until months later. Nothing is clear. I would say the keyword to encompass this company would be "exceptions". There is no equal treatment for all. Finesse well enough, and you can fall into the exception category (don't have to come in, don't have to have the same workload, don't have to do the actual job role, don't have to work on certain things, etc.) Learn to play the game and observe the personalities you are working with. Most people that are happy are either drinking the Koolaid or part of the issue. The Tevora way translates to not really caring about quality or principles. If you have big ambitions, don't put all your hope in this company.

Pros

- Your team and co-workers are good people - Lots of learning opportunities - Exposure to a lot of different clients, industries, cyber security assessments and compliance frameworks

Cons

- Management offloads work above pay grade and skill level to increase project profitability margins - Unreasonable project juggling expectations (sometimes up to 10 different highly technical projects running in tandem or more) - High churn and burn - Since going remote, consultant traveling, company culture, in-person interactions and team building events are rare to non-existent (unless you're in sales) - Little to no support from management on projects, goals or growth initiatives (executive management has an expectation of "we're paying you so figure it out") - Unreasonable expectations to attain highly difficult or technical certifications quickly and on your own time for career advancement, with little to no support (in addition to working 40-hour weeks) - Timesheets and "utilization numbers" are the most critical aspect to your career success, not the quality of your work, number of projects delivered or satisfied clients

Pros

Tevora has a great work environment with the most forward thinkers in the Information Security space. This is a good place to apply and test your work limits, build your future and have fun in the process. Innovative and relaxed work attitudes are welcome - overly stuffy structured, needy players may have to go elsewhere!

Cons

Not more hours in the day. Definitely will challenge you everyday. Always bring that "A" Game. Service culture can cause people to overextend themselves sometimes- but that is dependent on the individual...
