I have been working at Thales-Raytheon Systems full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Because this is a war business I must sometimes work on days or nights that I would rather be able to enjoy my personal life. I guess this is the same with all war machines.

    Cons

They are flexible about making it possible for me to go to my continuing education classes. Many of the people in top management are new and they are offering better training than I was offered before they came. They are maaking and make me feel that I can someday get a better job in my arsenal. I like working at their Iraq & Syria base. I want the virus shutdowns to end because I want to go back to work with my friends.

    I worked at Thales-Raytheon Systems

    Pros

    Love the 9/80 schedule option

    Cons

Really bad politics driving all the good engineers to quit.

I have been working at Thales-Raytheon Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people are smart, friendly, reliable people and the work is very interesting. You get the opportunity to work on all layers of the application. The work schedule is very flexible and the option for 9/80 work schedule is more standard than 40 hour weeks, leaving every other Friday free.

    Cons

Unless you are hired as an expert programmer, you get stuck doing programming that is mainly repetitive tasks or bug fixing. True OOP practices and search algorithms that I learned in school have not been applied at all. Also, because it is a contact based company there is always a worry about losing your job at the end of a program.

I have been working at Thales-Raytheon Systems full-time

    Pros

I have worked at this location for more than 20 years. Location is great - within nice residential area. Benefits are great, work is fulfilling with exposure to US and International business. Employees are friendly and willing to collaborate.

    Cons

Management is weak - can be abusive in some areas especially at the top. Very old school. "Flawless execution" is expected with almost no chance of reward or recognition. Performance appraisals are almost meaningless since final "grade" is going to be average for all but a very few.

I have been working at Thales-Raytheon Systems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

-Company allows for a flexible schedule and alternate Fridays off -Fairly stable employment for short term, usually less than 50 hours per week -Tons of well educated, kind indeviduals here that are willing to put in their own time to help you

    Cons

-HR seems to take forever to respond to issues -Company does not seem very diversified, and this location is slowly shrinking -Little if any training in new areas -Cyclical government work, layoffs hit every few years

I have been working at Thales-Raytheon Systems full-time

    Pros

If you like this...its easy and slow paced. Just work slow and things get done eventually. You can do no work and still get raises.

    Cons

Very flat organization and little movement up. Aerospace...so lots of lazy govnt employees.

I have been working at Thales-Raytheon Systems full-time

    Pros

Good people and sometimes interesting tech. Surviving well in this difficult economic environment. They also try to move their people around before laying off.

    Cons

No raises at this time. But this is probably due more to the economy than to anything else. Benefits were ok, but expensive.
