I have been working at Thames Water as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of opportunities internally. Large amount of cross training. Flexible with working hours (as you dont get sick pay/pay if out of office). Constant overtime available.

    Cons

No one really knows what's going on. Costant changes. Quite a 'if you face fits' environment. Some cases of bullying within the department. High turnover.

    Advice to Management

People are looking for a bit more job securite and promotions dependant on ability rather than who you are friends with.

I worked at Thames Water (More than a year)

    Pros

Good colleagues, the people make it tolerable

    Cons

Management is ridiculously poor. Avoid if you can afford it.

    Advice to Management

Learn what your staff actually have to do as a job so you can at least understand the difficulties.
