I have been working at Thames Water full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a company to be proud of. TW delivers water and takes away sewage all day everyday - impacting every single person in the London and Thames Valley - it doesn't get much bigger than that! The people are supportive and are passionate about the role they play. The benefits are good - and are getting better. Training is available to everyone and its common for people to move around and upwards as part of their development. The industry is changing so there are lots of opportunities for people to get involved in innovation and trying new things.

    Cons

It's sometimes a challenge to work across a company thats geographically spread. It doesn't always use the latest IS systems/technologies. But then thats the same for lots of companies isn't it!?

    Advice to Management

Role model the values and keep the customer in mind in every thought, conversation and action.

I have been working at Thames Water full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nice colleagues. Take health and safety very seriously. Good approach to flexible working.

    Cons

    No promotion based on ability.
    No very good benefits.
Not getting feedback from wider business before making key changes.

    Advice to Management

Do not overlook staff who have gone above and beyond. Promote staff based on MERIT and their ability. Not just because their face fits, or they are a 'yes' person.

I worked at Thames Water full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

No pros. Worst place to work

    Cons

Worst leadership. Leadership like government employees. Have no idea how to manage people... This is because they are in a safe place. They have the monopoly

    Advice to Management

Benchmark again great companies to work for. Change the culture
