Pros
There are so many great people who work here and I have missed them all over the last two years. But during that time our senior team have looked after us so well, from hampers at Christmas to supporting us financially in setting up a home workspace so we can continue with blended learning. I work in the Academy and it is a real joy to see apprentices coming through the door and know we are contributing to the workforce of the future. And yes, I really do look forward to Mondays.
Cons
As someone who lives in Basingstoke and doesn't drive - the walk from the Railway Station!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I was pleased to see you enjoy the family friendly nature of our culture and some of the Company benefits offered. I understand you have other frustrations relating to remuneration and communication from management. We conduct regular salary benchmarking exercises to ensure alignment with the external market but appreciate there may be other organisations who are able to offer very competitive salaries within their industry. In 2023 we invested in management training for our people managers, but I have noted your comment regarding communication for consideration on how we can further improve in this area. If you would like to discuss any of your feedback in more detail, please feel free to reach out to me at amy.sheppard@thatcham.org As a current colleague you can also share your experiences and/or suggestions by utilising one of the options via our colleague feedback channel, ‘Have Your Say’. These include an online form, speaking to one of our ‘Have Your Say’ reps or anonymously via one of the ‘drop-boxes’ located in each office. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review.

Pros
Nice people, Pension contribution scheme, Location of office, Easy Job with minimal work
Cons
Incredibly poor salaries on average 10-20k below where they should be reflected in their HIDDEN salaries of their job listings Salaries are cherry picked for HR and management anyone who is not pursuing that career path do not bother Hush and blame culture No progression Work can be completed on all manager vehicles (resprays, mechanical etc.) but don't waste your time asking to do anything small on your own vehicle. The claimed flexible remote working is seemingly exclusive to HR the expectation is for you to be in 3-4 days per week More layers of management than a Corp Poor management at all levels and communication Hierarchy system which is amplified through their dress down Friday culture exclusive to anyone who doesn't regularly wear uniform Senior management are clueless and overpaid for the lack of output or direction that they provide Nothing to do, mentally taxing pretending to be busy, miserable working pace, as a review stated above it is glacial Benefits just meet the legal requirements, the rest of the benefits are trivial e.g., car scheme Diversity meets quotas, you can count the level of diversity on one hand

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Naturally I am concerned about some of the feedback you have provided and disappointed that you didn’t have a good experience working with us, which doesn't reflect the environment and culture we aim for at Thatcham Research. You have lots of suggestions about how we can do things better and I would welcome the opportunity to discuss them in more detail with you. If you would like to do so, please reach out to me at amy.sheppard@thatcham.org for a confidential discussion.
