Pros
Innovative and quality products to sell, really loved carrying out demonstrations on the customers and watching their faces as they realised they had found a wonder product. Proud of the community trade backing the company had and the strong investment they had in community projects, as founded by Dame Anita Roddick. Commited to their values and core beliefs.
Cons
Long hours in the retail industry, particularly around Christmas as a manger. Excessive discounts allowed buyers to take advantage of these and the targets stipulated did not always take this into consideration.
Advice to Management
More investments into stores that would benefit from becoming Pulse stores, particularly those in smaller community orientated areas. Perhaps more family days awarded to the management team who do not often get chance to take weekends off, particularly those who would benefit from this. Training given to Assitant managers to allow them to control the store at peaks weekend times would perhaps allow managers to take... days off during peaks times without feeling the pressure to still maintain standards.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at The Body Shop full-time for more than a year
Pros
Very generous discounts/gratis product Company doesn’t test on animals/is forward about charity
Cons
Unreasonable/unrealistic sales goals that pit employees against each other Managers can manipulate sales goals to make themselves look better Upper management cutthroat and not understanding about ridiculous sales goals Unclear policies/quick policy changes Below average compensation Potential for extremely low hours Terrible benefits package High turnover
Advice to Management
Rethink the personal sales goals because all it creates is a very cutthroat environment where employees (managers) can manipulate each other. Be more realistic about sales goals. Update technology that matters to make tracking of sales simpler.

Pros
-great coworkers -great company values -very generous with staff samples
Cons
-little communication between upper management and stores -little room for growth (at least in my district, the manager seems to prefer to hire out as oppose to promoting from within)
Advice to Management
-get a better training program for management -create some sort of handbook where all the company's policies and rules are clearly outlined. Then stick to that handbook

Pros
I loved the fact all the products were 100% vegan, plant based, and was natural. The skin care products were amazing. Especially for the inexpensive price point. The employee discount was awesome.
Cons
Poor and lazy store manager that was late everyday, always trying to leave early, and did not know her job. Poorly trained staff..you are trained from a handbook. Unhappy staff members.
Advice to Management
Come into your stores and see what is going on with the poor leadership you hire!

Pros
I have always loved The Body Shop, their products, their ingredients and how natural it is. I really enjoyed the benefits, the pay was reasonable.
Cons
I feel like the store I worked at, the management was very disrespectful and very pushy. There were a lot of complaints from customers about the managers and a lot of pressure from the manager to the staff to constantly sell regardless of the client needs. The management would go against the policy and make excuses for not making returns such as, the internet isn't working, or we don't returns during holiday periods.... A lot of the times, the manager would try and pin point things on staff to blame things on. I could not stand the management, so left.

I feel like the management should have more respect for their employees to have a successful team. It is important that an employee is happy in the environment to be able to do their best.

Pros
50% off Loreal items Small store with little clean up Has very loyal customers Has a great free trade system set up internationally
Cons
Long days where you're the only employee in the store Not a team environment Stressed to make daily sales goals with no benefits when goals are reached
Advice to Management
When a full time employee is promised health benefits and over a year later is not given them, that's a problem.
