    Pros

    Good company to work for. Flexible working. Ability to contribute to change in the team. Good bonuses and pay rises.

    Cons

    Seemed to be a lot of promoting to senior management of internal staff that were there the longest and were "yes" men rather than the most qualified.

    Advice to Management

    Continue what you are doing. Look at hiring for senior roles outside of the organisation rather than just hire those that are willing to agree with the loudest voice

    I have been working at The Hartford full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Beautiful facilities that are brand new and really modern.
    Good people that want to help and are good to work around. Management really tries to help and they are changing a lot to make it better.
    Systems are easy to use especially compared to several other insurance companies I have worked for.
    Management does a lot to show appreciation and you can tell they are really trying especially with some of the recent changes.

    Cons

    Training needs a lot of work but to be fair the people try. if you do not have a license from a previous employer get ready you have to figure it out for yourself.
    The site is fairly new so they are still figuring some things out.

    Advice to Management

    Get more calls especially at night. Keep listening to employees and making the changes that you have been.

    Management is supportive, co workers are laid back, senior leadership pays attention

    Cons

    Underwriter training was great for understanding the Hartford underwriting guidelines/appetite, but did little to prepare me for the processes to do the job.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up. Have a more formal training for the processes.

    Pros

    The fellow employees in my department were a great group of people to work with. Even though we were remote employees, we always had the ability to reach out to one another for help, to run ideas by, to commiserate, etc. Great teamwork.

    Cons

    Claim volume was much too high, if you wanted to realistically reach and exceed your goals, actually give customers the time and attention their claims deserved, provide timely resolutions.

    Advice to Management

    In this day and age the insurance world will continue to see an increase in claim volume, the massive storms are not going away, thefts (personal and commercial) continue to rise, etc. You need to hire more adjusters. Don't spend months talking about it, just do it. You're losing good employees who truly care about what they do and care about the customers. Persistent high claim volumes and not enough adjusters leads to major burnout, lowered file quality scores. Be the better insurance company that people want to work for.
