I have been working at The J. M. Smucker Company full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Nice big campus where everything is new. Work from home opportunities. Business casual attire including "smart" jeans and branded clothing. Friday afternoons off in summer and December. Friendly coworkers.

    Cons

Leadership says strategy is right, but top line revenue shows otherwise these last five years. HR controls all internal messaging. They claim to value tough messages and transparency but promotions and visibility go only to those who paint a happy picture. The company's results reflect a fear of hard truth. Years of it is catching up to them.

    Advice to Management

Time for a new strategy. Listen to employees with deep expertise trying to help the company survive. Culture has become nothing more than wall art.
