I have been working at The LEGO Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good salary, good bonus, office is really nice. There has been a lot of new people so the company is feeling fresh and new

    Cons

It very Danish! Sometimes it feel like a Danish club. But it's slowly getting better. Expanding very quickly, not sure if the company is keeping up

I have been working at The LEGO Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours and friendly place to work. Lots of smart people and good ideas. Sometime a bit too focused on how things have always been done rather than let’s do something new

    Cons

Hierarchy can restrict progress, there are a lot of people who have worked there for 10+ years or brand new to the company, things don’t always run so smoothly.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the hard working people who are in the company, they really are talented.

I have been working at The LEGO Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome office, good perks, great work life balance.

    Cons

The business is very set in its ways and disappointingly unconcerned with diversity.

    Advice to Management

Get some proper advice on how to promote the product in the 21st century.

I worked at The LEGO Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Very employee centric
Lots of development opportunities, if you get time!
Exciting times with the Global Agenda
Strong total reward (salary, benefits and bonus)

    Cons

Need to be more mindful of communication from CM, core messages can be lost in the downward cascade.
Face needs to fit if you want progress
Diversity, what exactly is the strategy, promoting employees into senior roles when they are not ready to meet targets.
Some employees are allowed to get away with very poor behaviour

    Advice to Management

They should do a better job at achievements.

I have been working at The LEGO Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    The brand sells by itself

    Cons

The so called promises are only on paper. In particular, people promise is only on paper. Employees are just handled as "resources" not as living people. No respect. The people managers are arrogant

    Advice to Management

Have skip level meeting and meet the people below the people managers. You will realise the reality which is much different than what you are presented to.

I worked at The LEGO Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working for LEGO was very interactive, fulfilling and fun. Great work environment with great people that supported a company mission higher than profits. Challenging work made me excited to go in every day. I would recommend working there to anyone in the retail industry. Benefits are top notch!

    Cons

Just like anyplace else there are cons. The most enjoyable part of our job is watching kids eyes light up every time they walk into the store. Over the years you build relationships and become part of their family; watching their building skills and enthusiasm for building grow.

LEGO is more than just a toy for some. Brick by brick, you cultivate friendships, live in the moment, make and share memories by providing a escape from the reality that children cope with chronic illness. The hardest CON working at the LEGO Store is coping with the death of children that you have nurtured throughout the years.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening and reacting to employee feedback.

I have been working at The LEGO Group full-time

    Pros

Great Values, good work-life balance even if it’s getting worse month after month (you simply spend entire days doing meetings). People are amazing

    Cons

Very slow career progression, no meritocracy. You don’t have visibility on your next steps and you feel like you are not in control of your career progression.
