I worked at The LEGO Group for more than a year

    Pros

Working with THAT brand behind you makes the company a pretty special place to be - most of the employees genuinely care about LEGO and its customers which makes for a very positive working environment, though I'd echo what one of the other reviews has said that if you hate the stuff it's probably not the place for you... The company is also very open internally about its projects and plans.

    Cons

The company's high growth recently has led to more pressure on every area of the business, which are not always equipped to deal effectively with it. The management structure, especially in the retail arm of the company, has led to a few people far removed from the 'action' holding a lot of decision-making power with largely incompetent middle managers beneath them, so trying to get anything major achieved can be incredibly frustrating. Low employee turnover (while generally a good thing) makes progression within the company almost impossible. Pay & benefits (in the UK at least) is also poor - the love for the company held by most employees is taken advantage of hugely in my opinion.

I have been working at The LEGO Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Working with a consumer-first mindset Fantastic colleagues Fantastic product Fantastic purpose There are a some really amazing leaders and a handful that are unfit.

    Cons

Bureaucratic organisation Messy organisation due to re-org Micromanagement from Middle managers Limited opportunities to advance, nearly impossible Limited or no access to external training or conferences, development happens via google Some teams are led in old school fashion where you have to put your hours in office eventhough a lot of people have a severe commute - eg allow people to work from remote Endless stakeholder alignment before decision making

    Pros

I worked at The LEGO Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Great flexibility in schedules - Good people and co workers - Good benefits in general - Great Values - Great brand

    Cons

    - Upper management takes decisions with no consultation from the employees and if it doesnt work they sell it like "the company is open to see whats the best for it", but that philosophy doesnt apply to employees. - No training - Some manager are not empowered by upper management - Decision making is slow, burocratic and they cant find the formula to improve it. - Lack of communication within the company and it always feels there is a hidden agenda. - Collaboration is more praised than results even if there is no accomplishment - Recognition is low and with no real impact - Benefits are low compared to competitors - Very stressful environment - The organization has too many people involved in the decision making and in the daily tasks, so changes are extremly slow. - Extrovert personalities will have a very marked advantage
