I have been working at The Money Shop UK full-time

    Pros

Used to have good bonus scheme where we got about £800 at the end of the tax year but was taken away. Now even if we make so much money we just get our normal salary which is very demotivating for staff and makes other staff members lazy so certain staff members carry the work load.

    Cons

Should get paid more for what we do.
Manager is unappreciative of staff doesn’t communicate well.
The higher staff act like it’s their dad’s company and they have all the power.
Not all staff treated the same.
Not able to progress at all been in the company 4 years and given empty promises regarding progression.
Used to have a good bonus scheme and they took it away, now every month they tell us we are getting a new bonus scheme and let us down every month.

I worked at The Money Shop UK full-time

    Pros

The company provided very in-depth training, however I did feel that some the tasks they wanted employees in the shops to complete seems very out of touch with a good customer experience.

    Cons

Exhausting working environment where you will have days that are non-stop and then days that are very quite.

I worked at The Money Shop UK full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the people you work with.

    Cons

    A lot of lone working.
Having to be a key holder and work alone when you’re only a CSR.
No lunch breaks when lone working.
Too much pressure to get loans.
    Management are awful.
Only get a promotion if your face fits.
Too many changes not rolled out across company.

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff better. There should be zero lone working in that type of environment. Employ more members of staff. Don’t take your staffs safety for granted.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at The Money Shop UK full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The stores run on small teams, Safety first he company take the security very serious and pays detailed attention to this.

    Cons

Very little care for the staff that work for them, Security seems to be geared up to scrutinize the staff. Questionable ethics in which short term finance products are sold.

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff with trust and compassion and they will work harder to achieve for the company. Work out way to provide a necessary service without alienating you customers

    Pros

Healthcare, pension, free parking, annual pay rise, bonus, good progression if your face fits or if the head of your department fancies their chances with you; then the world is your oyster.

    Cons

Nepotism, favouritism, some weak leaders. White middle class senior management are out of touch with reality staff and customers. Customers and store staff are mostly working class and/or minority ethnics.

    Advice to Management

    Lead by example
