I have been working at The University of North Carolina System full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits - sick time, vacation, paid holidays, education benefits, good insurance for individual full-time employees. If you can get a private-industry job instead, you will earn more and have more opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

Old school patriarchal hierarchy. Plantation mentality. Racist. Low pay. Difficult to advance because of red tape policies.
