I have been working at The Zen Agency full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A company that has a wealth of experience. Extremely good location. Opportunity to grow and learn as an individual in the creative and development field.

    Cons

The coffee shop that is just outside the agency is way too expensive! Have to walk an extra few feet to get one from somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

As a new member of staff who has observed the previous comments on this website, I have found that this agency is not all the doom and gloom it is made out to be. It is a typical faced paced agency where you work, learn and grow. Anyone starting out in an agency like this would benefit from it's wealth of knowledge in the digital industry.

I have been working at The Zen Agency

    Pros

Good environment to learn and develop with a number of clients across a number of different sectors. The opportunity to get involved in a number of different functions of the business such as pitching and proposals also allows your to grow your knowledge base and skill set.

    Cons

The office closes at 5.00pm and you get to go home at exactly the same time everyday! The other thing I found is that because of the location (a stone throw from Buchanan street) you end up shopping for stuff you really don't need.

    Pros

None- everything about working here was terrible.

    Cons

Everything is terrible. Also - any positive reviews are likely to be fake because the MD always burns his bridges.

    Advice to Management

I worked at The Zen Agency full-time

    Pros

    Location very central, reasonable pay

    Cons

CEO behaves in a child like manner, yelling and throwing tantrums at people. This causes an insane staff turnover and anyone daring to challenge the CEO can expect more abuse or being tossed out. Pay is slightly higher but work is dull with plenty of bits and bobs for big name clients and the only real marketing work is done with smaller clients, who receive very poor service. You will get the hairdryer treatment from...

    Advice to Management

Look inward, people have tried to help you by giving you constructive feedback. This is not a Dickens novel, you can't behave in such an unprofessional way and then wonder why employees are leaving and clients are furious with you.

We wondered how log it would take before we got your review. Another failed business development manager who promised the world and delivered nothing. The only one that was unprofessional is yourself.. posting up untruths and lies about why you got fired. these are the facts!

I worked at The Zen Agency

    Pros

I have had the pleasure of working with Alan and the team on a freelance basis over the last year and I have been really impressed with the professional manner on how each project is approached. Coming from a freelance perspective, everything is carefully planned out prior to joining a project and a very smooth process. Any larger projects that come my way from my own contacts that i would need a team around me, I would...

I have been working at The Zen Agency full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Varied range of projects, encourage individual initiative, friendly staff, good location, never dull, reasonably flexible

    Cons

small office, internet connectivity erratic, sometimes too keen to take any job rather than fully assessing the type of project/client/budget

    Advice to Management

Fully assess client proposals in conjunction with budget and client directives. Never over promise.

I worked at The Zen Agency full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good location and I had the chance to work with some great clients in my time there.

    Cons

Where to start. First of all the management bullying got to a point where I'd and colleagues were reduced to tears. I saw several members of staff come an go in my time, most of them walking out after some irrational outburst from management. It was a horrendous environment to work in. You were never given the chance to do your job properly as management proved to be a constant distraction, either by constantly interfering...

    Pros

    City Centre Location was convenient

    Cons

I can't think of any other pros to write for this company. They are the worst I've ever experienced and I actually beg you to look elsewhere before considering joining them. These other reviews on here for previous employees are correct in saying that the owner, Alan, is a horrible horrible cunning man. The atmosphere here is appalling and I didn't know of any staff at the time I was here who were happy in their...

I worked at The Zen Agency

    Pros

In previous years, the Zen Agency has had some pretty big clients so it is great to be associated with large successful brands early on in your career. If you can switch off from the owner then there is a potential for someone at the beginning of their career to learn a lot. Despite the bully tactics, temper tantrums, abusive language and non existent management skills, the owner does actually know a bit about...

    Cons

The business is run, and owned, by one man who makes your day a nightmare. He is a bully and has no management skills whatsoever. If a problem arises he simply gets angry and looks to blame someone. His attitude towards his staff is disgraceful and he likes to create a culture of fear to get his way. It is like working for a spoiled child who changes the goal posts all the time. On one hand he will be adamant that...
