I have been working at Thornton Tomasetti full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A great bunch of incredibly bright and talented guys and girls who work hard to please their customers
A variety of interesting projects to work on

    Cons

Little respect is given by the management team to junior colleagues
A fairly negative working atmosphere exists from employees who feel they are powerless to influence or suggest improvements

    Advice to Management

Break down the old fashioned chain of command structure and give staff authority to make decisions.
Treat everyone equally and don't have 'Favourites' who receive preferential treatment

I have been working at Thornton Tomasetti full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to work on world-class projects with some of the best and brightest engineers in the industry.

    Generous parental leave policy.

    Cons

Project managers struggle with perfectionism; they want the work done ASAP but also with all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed.

Very aggressive project schedules lead to frequent fire drills and long hours.

Company struggles with low morale and high turnover, especially among employees with 5-10 years of experience.

    Advice to Management

Encourage employees to go home at a decent time and to use their PTO so that they don’t get burned out.

Be more selective when bidding projects. It’s not worth winning the job if you’re going to lose money on it. Low design fees create impossible expectations for the staff engineers working on the project.

I have been working at Thornton Tomasetti full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People are friendly and intelligent. Projects are interesting.

    Cons

You would think a firm as well-known as TT would pay lots, but that is not the case at all. They say one thing in the interview and then offer something else in the official offer and they don't budge, not even 1k. They probably just assume everyone wants to work for them so they will pay as low as possible.

    Advice to Management

Pay people what they are worth.
