I worked at Totaljobs Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits, company benefits are varied covering Eye tests, gym discounts and shopping discounts. My team. I had a great time working with my team. Personally and professionally improved a lot of my skills. The reason I left was because I felt I had reached my top potential in the role I was in. Company events. In my time at Totaljobs I traveled to London, Manchester and even Berlin for some fantastic events which I both got to experience and help create the design assets for. The work. I got to take part in some fantastic projects and build my skills up which was great fun.

    Cons

Blame culture. this wasn't something that the business always had. When I began working here it was a positive atmosphere. However once the merger with Jobsite & Totaljobs was fully in flow I noticed a big change. People would rather blame you for a problem that try and solve the problem. Particular managers throughout the business. I witnessed managers block employees from progressing into different teams. In one instance the manager lied about a particular employees experience to prevent them from getting an interview for a job. I took this to HR and it was ignored. Across my time at the business I raised multiple concerns with this particular managers 'Management techniques' both to HR and to their line manager. For myself and on behalf of others. Another few instances where a manager seemed to purposely embarrass an employee in the middle of an open plan office. Reducing that employee to tears after separate instances. Took this to HR, again it was ignored. HR, the team was constantly changing so anything taken to them was often not dealt with. When I was leaving it took 4 attempts to finalise my details on my exit letter including my name, address, pay date. Not very organised and constant mistakes made the leaving process quite difficult. This issue was mainly caused by lack of staff in the HR team. Lack of honesty. One of their core values was 'Honesty' . Which they did not do. In the time I was their we went through 3/4 rebranding processes. Each time they asked us not to tell anyone, these changes often affected majority of peoples jobs and really created a negative atmosphere. Often said there weren't going to be changes when there would be significant changes. Favouritism. When I joined the company, I joined as part of Jobsite. While I was there we merged fully with Totaljobs. There was a clear divide between the London & Havant offices. Although I didn't feel this divide in my direct team, it was clear across most teams around the business. Departures of people from the company very quickly. In our marketing department in 2019 10 people left a team of about 20-30 in the space of 10 months. I also witnessed an entire marketing team of 4 leave the business within 4-6 months when I first joined the internal studio. This created a negative energy in the department for quite a while.
