Pros

Your co-workers will be fun, and it's a great place to meet people if you're new to town.

Cons

There is really high turnover, especially among executives. Anyone considering an executive role should be very hesitant because they've been through at least 7 in three years. The CEO is very passionate but that can often mean he gets really deep into a department without knowing what he is doing and really screws it up. If you want to leave, the CEO will get very passive aggressive. For quite some time the CEO told the company that if you left, you couldn't get another job at a Foundry Group company ruling out many Boulder jobs. The unprofessionalism you will encounter at this company will blow your mind. Politics are also an intrinsic part of the culture and there is rampant favoritism. The pay is below grade for the rest of Boulder and fellow Foundry Group companies. They tout their "take what you need" vacation policy but that's reserved for the favored, and often the exec team holds vacations you've taken over your head.

Fun and Promising Startup? That's a stretch

Pros

Great location in the heart of downtown Boulder. Decent Health benefits.

Cons

Trada may have had potential at one point or another, but that time has come and gone. It is simply not "the next BIG thing" out of Boulder. I would agree, this startup is different; most companies at this stage understand that it is the people that are going to make or break it, and would do anything to keep the quality happy. However, there is palpable negative energy that hangs like a cloud in the office; employees complaining to employees, people crying (literally), executives churning like butter, and talented people generally feeling devalued and mistreated. Leadership will tell you that they are extremely transparent, but I found company meetings to be vague and misleading. I am not sure actual P&L or Income Statements were ever disclosed at these meetings, making difficult to understand how the company is ACTUALLY doing, and if the options you stuck it out for will ever be worth anything. Frequently, we were told the company was headed in one direction, only to find out that was not the case. If you want an example, look at the press release around their last round of funding and see if any of those promises came true. Anyhow, I met some great people there, and most have moved on.

Pros

Great benefits, good work-life balance, casual dog-friendly office.

Cons

High turnover, closed minded senior management. Very cookie cutter approach to business development. Management is not open to new suggestions.
