Revolving door -constant fear of being fired.

Pros

The product is truly amazing and has the opportunity to change the auto remarketing industry. Use of Apple products for work is nice.

Cons

Constantly hiring and firing sales reps. On 3 occasions they have fired nearly the entire staff and hired all new people. It seems every time a new manager is brought in the team is fired. I would also question the ethics of their auction system and the company as it is rumored that company employees have fake accounts they use to artificially raise the bids at auction.

This is my first Glassdoor post, and probably one that’s overdue. Thank you – and all of the reviewers – for your positive and negative feedback. I never enjoy hearing the negatives, but it’s important and valuable when I do. There have been some issues with turnover and training, and we’re focused on addressing them. We need inspired employees to stay ahead of the curve and continue delivering cutting edge technology to our customers. In some cases, turnover was deliberate because managers and/or employees weren’t the right match for our entrepreneurial culture. In other cases, good talent decided to move on. So we’re actively deploying new management processes and training programs to better cultivate, invest in, and unleash the talents of our people. And I’m personally committed to making sure we follow-through. Regarding the rumours, let me be absolutely clear: there is zero room and zero tolerance for dishonesty at TradeRev. Honesty is paramount to our customer relationships and our success. We promote it, monitor for it closely, and ultimately depend on each employee to help maintain it across our company. So here’s my ask of you and any other current or former employee: if you see a problem or an opportunity to make us better, I want to hear about it. Have an idea? Send me an e-mail. Give me a call. Stop by my office. Glassdoor is a helpful forum, but I still believe an “open door” is the most powerful communication tool out there. Thanks again for your feedback. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t address your concerns earlier, but I wish you the best for a successful and fulfilling career.

Pros

1) Nice tech stack: Java/Kotlin, AWS, ElasticSearch, Redis, Gitlab, Kafka, Kubernetes 2) Friday lunches and team events every other month 3) Good work like balance

Cons

1) I understand that companies have to let go of employees during this pandemic but how they handle it says a lot about the company. TradeRev sends an adhoc meeting invite to all employees getting furloughed, founder breaks the news and talks for 2-3 mins, and before the employees could process it, account is deactivated. Horribly mismanaged. Business will eventually pick up but TradeRev has lost the respect of its employees. Employees who were let go ain't gonna come back and the ones still there can't wait to get out. 2) Years and years of bad design, poor coding and never once stopping to clear technical debt means the monolith is a huge mess and a maintenance nightmare. Oh yea, if they talk about building new micro-services during the interview, don't fall for it. They have been talking about it for years :D 3) Politics, politics and politics. Most managers are bootlickers of VP and unless you get into the good book of managers, you ain't progressing. And people who evaluate you on your technical skills have abysmally low technical skills. And yea, they will shamelessly talk about writing clean code, when they are the ones who have created this huge technical debt in the first place.
