I have been working at Trafigura full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - you work with some of the smartest people from the industry in your role - enough independence given to manage your work well - good pay (specially variable) for performers

    Cons

read in the same order of pros: - you need to be smart and fast enough to follow what is going on or you loose the bus - with independence comes responsibility to deliver and the standards are high - if you don't perform well, you risk your bonus (which is significant component of the overall salary) and maybe your job as well Overall if you want a comfortable environment, this is not the place for you.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Trafigura full-time

    Pros

Other than Good pay n bonus I hv nothing good to comment on Traf

    Cons

Culture sucks n Traf's staff turnover is Super high - hire n fire is probably the best to describe If anyone is considering joining Traf - make sure the remuneration is double or triple yr current otherwise best to stay where u r as u never know when you will be next to be out of job - I wud say Traf is merciless n ruthless place to work in w lots of back stabbing n everyone is fighting for survival

    Advice to Management

Change the culture n make Traf a choice company to work in

    I worked at Trafigura full-time

    Pros

Good exp. for ppl wanting to become traders. Good pay (though only slightly higher than oil majors). Potential to travel. Equity owners make a ton of money at a young age.

    Cons

Compared to oil majors, you work 50% more, you receive poor training, you are blamed for anything that goes wrong. You may be fired quite quickly, even if it is an honest mistake. Very high turnover. Low morale. Shady business practices.

    Advice to Management

They make a ton of money every year, so I don't think they care that most employees hate working there. I guess stick with the ruthless culture

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Trafigura full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good pay, free food, pick and drop facilities, good office location

    Cons

They determine your efficiency by the number of hours you stay in office, no work life balance, bad office culture and absolutely no help from operators working in other locations, no training, hire and fire people too frequently hence no job stability, difficult to switch job due to no relevant profile available, they claim to send employees aboard for training but is very subjective and you may never get a chance, high...

    I worked at Trafigura

    Pros

Good Pay, Decent benefits, No Nagging, No Policy culture- Whatever you want becomes a policy, Some smart people, Deep pockets, International Opportunities, A brag about $150 Billion Revenue, Lots of Group Companies to explore, Truly International.

    Cons

Well, here is the problem, and you would need to prioritize between pros and cons. Select what you like. 1. Negligible presence in India, no one knows about this shop. 2. The age old mentality that Indians are good for back-end work. 3. Age old technologies in IT space, which cannot support the group's growth, yet someone sitting in a black room takes a call and the group suffers. 4. Indian Management runs without...

    Advice to Management

Try to build a stable organization especially in India. Not much is being done here in India to build a stable organization and the global board is kept in dark. The trading side is an integral part of the company, but other units (IT, Admin, HR, Finance etc) are as important as the rest, but yet are treated as a stepchild.

    Pros

Good management, Good Pay, Awesome Bonuses, Good learning

    Cons

Always scarcity of resources. They just won't add more people to do work. They pay 1.5 time of the market standard but will get 2X work too. If you are a work horse, then it is a good company to join.

    Advice to Management

    Do some capacity management.
