RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at TransferWise full-time for less than a year
Pros
-You're treated like an adult & trusted to do your job without being micromanaged -Work/life balance is the best I've had and that's down to the flexibility -Your opinions and ideas matter and they're listened to -Encouraged to get involved in things that really interest you or speak up if you believe something can be done better -You're given the opportunities to grow and take on new challenges -No two days are ever the same, you're always faced with new challenges and things to get stuck into -Brilliant offices with everything you could need (and more!) -Possibility of travelling to our other offices -SummerDays yearly all-company event -Everyone is so friendly -None of that 'I'm-a-newbie' awkwardness, you become part of the team instantly
Cons
-The autonomous environment can be frustrating at times -With so many people in the business, it's impossible to know everybody (or even half!) -As we're growing so quickly things change quickly meaning something that's a priority today might not be tomorrow -If you don't like constant change or enjoy being kept on your toes, this is not the place for you!

Pros
Huge levels of trust for employees Great career opportunities A lovely work environment with a nice working culture Well thought out feedback culture that works
Cons
Autonomous teams can be a challenge in regards to siloing. Channels of communication can be a barrier to good project management. Hiring replacements after a resignation can be overly drawnout

Pros
Visionary and inspirational CEO. Lots of flexibility and trust. Great community and awesome perks. Surrounded by smart and talented people.

Pros
Coming to TransferWise has been my first job after graduating from university. It's given me so many opportunities I wouldn't even have dreamed of when thinking of what working life will be like. Some of my personal highlights are: - Responsibility & ownership- even as a junior I'm trusted to take on lots of responsibility in my projects and I'm encouraged to always voice my opinions and tell my views. - Travel opportunity - it often feels crazy to be able to travel to our offices around the world. - The people - it probably seems cliche but it's really the people that make TransferWise - I'm learning not only from my team mates, but also from people from different teams all the time. Everyone's always happy to help out and you can have chats with anyone, there's no corporate hierarchy. - Flexibility - being an international, one of the biggest things for me is the ability to travel to my home country and work from there for a week once in a while not having to use my holiday days for it. Lots of people also WFH once a week. - Mission-driven - When I was applying for a job I wasn't particularly looking for a mission-driven company. However seeing everyone here living and breathing our mission feels empowering and like you have a greater purpose to work for.
Cons
- Information overload - when you first join the information overload is huge, there's so much you can learn about the product that you really need to learn to prioritise and see what's relevant for you through the noise - Autonomy can be overwhelming - there's no handholding, you need to figure out how you can have the most impact and keep lazer-focused on that. It can be tricky as there's so many things you could be working on, to really understand how you can bring most value to the company.

Pros
- Challenging environment, you'll be pushed to learn and grow - Amazing colleagues, made such good friends at work - Opportunities to grow beyond your role - Perks are really good, the company looks after its employees -
Cons
- Salary could be better. If it was, this would be a perfect place to work - Sometimes people struggle at work mentally because of the speed of growth and autonomy expected of them

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at TransferWise full-time for more than a year
Pros
Flexible working hours. Well-stocked kitchen. Sauna in the office
Cons
This organisation is made up of loud people. Quiet ones who contribute are either drowned out or forced to be as loud or will not be recognised. Inter-department bickering happens all the time. Loads of politics because of autonomous culture. Tech is an utter mess. Compensation and stocks are below market. Same feedback has been given by numerous leavers, but nothing's done. Flexible working means you will have no form of life. Be prepared! You will be slacked about work when you are on vacation and off sick. Work anytime any day! Ceo paints rosy pictures of company success. Working here, however, wouldnt make you feel like you are working in a successful company. Cost cutting is done in every way possible Do not be fooled by the novelty of having a sauna in the office. No one uses it. Totally overrated!
Continue readingHi, thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us. I hope you were able to pass on your feedback to your lead and the People team before you left as we want all our people to feel that they can discuss their concerns. It’s the only way we can get better. I’m really sad to hear this was your experience with us and is the opposite of how we want people to feel, in particular your concerns around compensation. We're regularly reviewing our salary ranges to ensure they continue to be competitive, and we review salary ranges for all employees globally at least every 12 months. As you know, in addition to salary we offer competitive stock options for all our employees to share in the long term success of our company. Working within autonomous teams, with each team getting to pick how they operate and what problems to solve, can have its downsides. There are many teams in TransferWise that work as a team rather than a group of individuals, and it's sad to hear you left without that experience. I do hope you were able to pass on your feedback before you left. If you're up for a conversation, I’d like to hear more about your particular experience. Please feel free to reach out to me via employerbrand@transferwise.com and the team will connect us. Thanks Ross
