I have been working at TransferWise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very people oriented company. Both for its employees and its customers. The values of the company are there not only on paper. People are driven to work good because they are being taken good care of: starting with on-boarding process, mentoring system, team-events, free snacks and great coffee, as well as comfortable work environment and freedom . The "autonomous teams" working style was very new to me, but it allows...

    Cons

The "autonomous teams" has its downfalls too - mainly the communication between teams during different projects. Mistakes happen when 2 teams are working on similar issues and solutions end up clashing and creating more issues. That will get resolved of course. The personal development is seen more in a movement between teams rather that up-scaling your positions.

    Advice to Management

I am still a newby so everything seems pink and fluffy to me. Maybe a bit more info on personal growth and professional development would be great.

I have been working at TransferWise full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Multiple autonomous teams with cross team collaboration that leads to big things happening. It feels good to be part of something this good. Fun work environment and you work with only the best people :)

    Cons

As with any startup, you always do more than perhaps is expected from you, and work-life balance therefore can suffer. Some days you wish you got paid more for the amount of work you put in daily.

I have been working at TransferWise full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

There is loads of freedom to exercise your creative potential and to really develop yourself as a person. The company is growing and changing constantly so you have to grow as a person and develop yourself to stay ahead of the curve. TransferWise gives you pretty much all the tools you need to do your job and basic instructions on what the expected outcome is, but aside from that you get to make your own fun. There aren't...

    Cons

If you have been working in a place where your boss gives you daily instructions and if you love stable rules and strict settings - then this place is not for you. So far the hiring has been focused on getting people who are responsible adults and people who do not need any babysitting. Coincidentally sometimes these responsible adults are also workaholics. So there is a small chance of TransferWise swallowing up your...

    Advice to Management

Keep away from a hierarchy system for as long as possible - like it is now. Our flexibility, mobility, agility and adaptability are our key strengths. We should obviously keep evolving, but we should never forget why the company was started in the first place.

    Pros

Every day I drive to work with a smile on my face, because I get to do one amazingly challenging, and rewarding job, and to be around a bunch of so many inspiring and smart people. You are loved, supported, and heard at all times. It's like a second family you will gain when working here.

    Cons

    Absolutely nothing to add here.
