I have been working at Tripadvisor full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Good benefits package and plenty of useful amenities - free lunch twice a week - Dog friendly office which has been very popular with staff and makes for a great office environment - Stronger communication on key changes than before, something the company is learning to improve at - Great vibe and generally a good office, with good people

    Cons

    - London is not head office - this causes frustrations for some in terms of autonomy and where major decisions are made but there is a need to be realistic - Business is going through a period of change which can be a little difficult, but it is a necessary review of the structure of the teams that make up our business

Thank you for your feedback and for your continued dedication to the TripAdvisor team. I appreciate you acknowledging our great benefits and transparent, positive culture. As a longstanding TripAdvisor employee, you’ve seen TripAdvisor go through periods of change throughout the years. While change can be difficult for any organization, it’s necessary in order for us to refocus the business and accelerate our progress across all business lines. Change is exciting because it also presents new opportunities for all employees as professionals. While some decisions are made at HQ, all decisions always include input from our global teams. We recently added site leadership teams around the globe to further ensure that global offices have appropriate input and influence in decision making. Thanks again for your review and as always, please continue to share your feedback with your manager, people operations business partner and site leadership team. Martin Verdon-Roe, VP, Global B2B Hotel Product & Marketing

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we are happy to hear that you enjoy the office space and lunch perks, we are disappointed to hear that your experience hasn’t been completely positive. Our London office is our regional EMEA headquarters for TripAdvisor. Within the London office we have some senior Global Leaders and Senior Managers that look after a range of functions such as Sales Leadership, PR, Customer Support and Translations to name a few that are critical for our global business. We have also installed a London Site leadership team to help both run the London office across the matrix of departments and to gather feedback from the teams to better inform and guide the decisions at HQ in Boston. As a global business with some leaders working across the regional teams in Americas, EMEA, and APAC, I can understand that at times you feel stretched as we continue to drive the business forwards. TripAdvisor certainly does not support a 24/7 work ethic as that is not sustainable or productive. We do enable a flexible working environment and when relevant also support working from home to better empower working across the time zones and improving the work/life balance. I would be happy to have a conversation with you to better understand your challenges and solutions that might help you. Many thanks, Martin

I have been working at Tripadvisor full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people - I have never worked with a nicer, smarter bunch of people. People care about each other, we have a laugh and we work hard. It's a great working environment. Management that actually care - we have a London leadership team made up of the most senior people in the office and they really care about employee happiness. I also feel really supported by the management of my team. I am proud of what I do - at TripAdvisor you are encouraged to take ownership of what you work on and it's a pretty flat structure across the business, which I enjoy. There are great perks to working here - healthcare, dental, £850 towards fitness, free lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, fun office events, thoughtful little gifts, rooftop terrace. I work as part of a global team and I really feel like that. Although we work across the world, we have fortnightly meetings, help each other out and check in regularly.

    Cons

The career progression could be clearer, but management is aware of this and are working on better growth plans, I also don't think this is an issue specific to this company

I have been working at Tripadvisor full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get a great benefits package, which I never had in my previous jobs. Nice modern office Fruits and snacks for free, lunch discounts

    Cons

Salary is very low and changes and decisions are made without thinking and testing them first. Sales Agents and Account Executives have to find out on their own (or by customer complain) about changes made to site, prices or CRM messaging. Employees are always asked for feedback, but in the end it always goes the other way round and their opinion is not counting at all. No internal communication between different departments. Management not qualified to lead a multi billion dollar company

    I worked at Tripadvisor

    Pros

Extremely talented and passionate people who you'll be working with at the company. Perks such as free lunch every day of the week and an office gym are fantastic too.

    Cons

In my opinion, there is a high degree of power distance at the company that management should address.
