I have been working at Turner and Townsend full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Commissions with some big name clients, providing exposure to client leadership teams London office is impressive Opportunity to work with and learn from some very intelligent and hard-working colleagues

    Cons

Promotion opportunities appear to be based on individual performance on commissions for consultants so management are generally not interested or recognised for developing their teams well Technically brilliant people being promoted into leader of people positions - little to no real interest in or much competency to lead people and communicate effectively with their teams. It's somewhat of a myth that you get to chose your projects or sectors that you work on. You are often simply told what project you will be working on and you could be stuck there for the long term like many consultants. It's difficult to gain a variety of experience working with different clients in comparison to some other consultancies such as the big 4.

I worked at Turner and Townsend full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good opportunities if you look for them.

    Cons

Incredibly dependent on your line manager, If you don’t fit well into their mould career development is incredibly limited. Performance reviews are based on individual performance, and as a result, it’s a competitive somewhat back stab environment. Quite old school boys club mentality.
