I have been working at Tuxera full-time

    Pros

Tuxera is different from many Finnish companies, because it is so international. This international atmosphere is a huge plus as you get to know people from all over the world.

The working culture is very results oriented, people are very motivated and are overall very interested and passionate on what they do. Still, people do like to have fun together and there are many fun activities during the workdays and people are generally very nice.

    Cons

Sometimes working hours are long, but still compensated by flexible hours.

    Advice to Management

Keep on developing the company and concentrate on hiring the best people.

I have been working at Tuxera full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is great for anyone who values management giving full trust to the employees and a lot of freedom to do their work. The colleagues are world-class experts and you can only admire their talent. You get to learn so much, which is great. The diversity in nationalities is really high and I really enjoy the international atmosphere. One thing I love as well is that you get to be part of a highly skilled team of individuals and work with big global customers so you can really feel your work makes an impact. The culture of the company is great, you truly feel as part of a unique community where everyone is valued. Also, I admire the fact that the company has grown organically and extremely sustainably throughout the year so there is a lot of financial success as well which the employees get to enjoy.

    Cons

You need to be self-driven and be able to work independently as there are no strict controls or monitoring in place or someone telling you all the time what you need to do next. If you want to be told how to do things and cannot figure things out yourself, maybe not the right company for you.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the trust and freedom even though the company grows. You've done a good job so far.

I have been working at Tuxera full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The flexible working hours, people who you work with, all the activities and parties. Interesting assignments, ability to educate yourself to be better and more professional. You can also study while you are working in this company, since the hours can be decided with the management.

    Cons

The work is located in Espoo, Finland - where the air hurts your face. Though in the summer time you will have almost endless nights.

I have been working at Tuxera full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is growing and has all the advantages of a startup (fast-pace, lot of possibilities to learn and step off your usual role) while being financially solid and profitable (doesn't rely on any investment or external loans). We are encouraged to balance our personal life and hobbies with our work; thus working hours are totally flexible. People are super smart and talented and kind to each other; also Tuxera has the largest team of file system developers in the world with several software engineers involved in open source projects. The new headquarters are actually quite cool, with a swimming pool in the rooftop and a couple of private saunas. The company is very diverse and everybody is a bit of a nerd :) which creates a great atmosphere and company culture.

    Cons

If you like being supervised all the time or being told what to do in a very detail manner, the company is not for you.

I have been working at Tuxera full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the company is full of talented and diversified colleagues who are very friendly and inspiring, and they also have got a lot of trust and autonomy to discuss and create the environment that they wish for instead of receiving instructions from top down. People are very much valued here by a lot of community like activities, and the organization is so flat that you do not have to worry about visibility. People can also have open and transparent discussion about the working responsibilities and it is possible to get tasks and projects that even go across functions. The company is doing very well in business sense and there are a lot of possibility to take more responsibilities.

    Cons

If you are a person who prefers well organized guidelines or extremely clear responsibilities, you probably will feel a bit confused about how Tuxera works - most people here will take the task and go ahead without hesitating too much about who's who.
