      Pros

Great company and with great people. Good work ethic.

      Cons

You have little scope to make much change. The path they offer seems long at such a junior level. More BAME employees in certain parts of the business especially front office WM

      Pros

Good People except one horror to avoid. They like people that want to work and treat you fairly if you do.

      Cons

One person in the entire organisation which unfortunately ruins the department.

Used to be good, now you wonder what it's for

      Pros

Some very good people in trading and sales still left. The underlying ethos of the firm is good and the IB CEO is inspiring even if he is letting his senior guys run amok.

      Cons

UBS investment bank can't seem to work out what's for (this is probably true of a lot of investment banks though). As a result all it does is change. Any radical idea from senior management is implemented as long as it is seen to be "change" and no one can speak up against it. As a result the franchise is being destroyed. Good people been fired on a whim or because they push back slightly on some new crazy idea. Others just see the light and leave. The effectiveness of the salesforce has been hit by various intiatives which seem to change year by year. You sort of get used to one, explain it to your clients and so on - and then a completely different one comes along. This devalues the franchise with the client base. Macro research is a mess, with new managers having ripped out or driven away all the good parts of it in favour of their much less capable friends. Trading is a little better, but everyone has been told not to use balance sheet so it's difficult to get a good price any more and the firm seems to be losing market share continuously.
