I worked at UK Power Networks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Academic development, training courses are highly regarded elsewhere.

    Cons

Image is more important than the quality and stability of the network. HR are useless, providing very little support to Employees, . They brag about being an Employer of Choice yet play employees against one another. Trade union influence is growing weaker. The work is generally dull and repetitive. Middle management attempt to manipulate rather than genuinely coach and in general are crooked as they come, fabricating facts for investigations and acting as if they are above the law.

I worked at UK Power Networks full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Really interesting projects Some of the new younger engineers are fantastic and really good to work with. Trying to make changes in systems and processes which is a good step forward

    Cons

Poor middle management in general although i would say Basil Scarsella is an excellent CEO. The implementation of the new systems and processes had not gone well.
