I have been working at UNC Chapel Hill full-time

    Pros

Meaningful research; great work-life balance; best campus, faculty, and students around. Benefits have been great for me -- excellent health insurance.

    Cons

I'm sure it varies from department to department; mine is uniformly great. I have heard parking can be a challenge.

I have been working at UNC Chapel Hill full-time

    Pros

Benefits and compensation are competitive. I work offsite so my experience is a little different and I don’t interact much with the campus/administration side. My department has clear objectives and my research team is a great group of people to work with. Transparency in work expectations is also a plus.

    Cons

Parking is atrocious if you work on campus.
