I worked at USAA full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

USAA take as good a care for the staff as they do their members. I worked wiht USAA for almost 6 years and i've never felt so taken care of and supported anywhere else!

    Cons

Being in the London office, the numbers are limited and so progression through the senior ranks can be slow, but from a starting point - progression is fast and supported

I worked at USAA full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good culture, great benefits, good pay, awesome mission, lots of PTO, room for growth, professional development opportunities, commitment to service

    Cons

Working as an entry-level rep on the phones can be trying and gets old, keep looking for your right job fit within the company if you are unhappy in your position

I worked at USAA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good wage and work at home is possible. Members are great for the most part, especially if you are former military yourself or military BRAT.

    Cons

USAA has focused on up-selling their products way too much. As a member prior to employment I had a very high opinion of USAA and remember when you would call and your concern was handled quick, efficiently and correctly. Not the case anymore. Employees are made to focus on selling products not keying the work correctly or making sure everything is right ... that is just EXPECTED to happen and not the focus. Great idea in theory but doesn't work. When you reward employees for more products they sell and not the accuracy of their work ... well, what do you expect to happen???

I worked at USAA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits and great people, working to help the military community. Everything you could think of available on campus so you never have to leave.

    Cons

Very rigorous call center environment, if you’re not familiar with this it can take some getting used to. Constant micro-management.

I worked at USAA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

One of the best places I've worked at. Everyone in my chain of command was very supportive and encouraging. As a member, it was really nice to know that they truly had the customer's best interest at hand, and didn't just say it as a company line.

    Cons

My job was at a call center, so you do are tethered to a phone line and schedule is pretty precise - but that applies to almost all call center personnel
