      Pros

      - unlimited time off/holidays - company values - understanding the importance of work life balance and encouraging flexible working - training opportunities - opportunities to develop and build your career path - new and fresh team

      Cons

      - whilst a lot of the team are new, the people who have been with the company longer are quite set in stone in how they operate and not always open to change.

      Pros

As a returning employee for my 2nd stint here, I'm very impressed with how everything is at Unit4. You feel extremely valued as an employee and looked after, our wellbeing is really taken into consideration and this helps massively. The vision is very clear and is shown throughout the business. Unit4 really ensure tools are in place to progress your career and everyone is so helpful. Offering all employees things such as flexible working, unlimited annual leave and also focus fridays is such a great benefit to have and makes you leave work on a Friday refreshed for the following week.

      Cons

Nothing as yet, keep going with all the people focused benefits and wellbeing

      Great company to work for

      Pros

I have worked for Unit4 for 16 years and have seen many changes in that time. The changes in the last 12-18 months with the new management have been radical and in my opinion make Unit4 an even better company to work for. They are committed to ensuring there "people" are looked after with flexible working and unlimited holiday being 2 great benefits. I have had long periods of illness over the last few years and the way they have looked after me during and after cannot be faulted. The energy in the company now can be felt in everything we do and makes me feel proud to be part of it.

      Cons

Inevitably with all the change, I have found that I don't always understand the structure in the company and who the new people are, its fast-paced and hard to keep up with although the communication is vastly improved.

      Great Company

Nov 2, 2020 - Account Manager in Reading, England, England

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The company is fast paced and dynamic, whilst being very supportive towards employees, ensuring they have a work/life balance - flexible working hours, unlimited annual leave, good benefits, 'people first' company culture

      Cons

Micro-management, teams working in silos (not everyone helpful), changes focus a lot, too many mandatory meetings.

      A People First company

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great people, good leadership, People First culture, Unlimited Holiday, embraced remote & flexible working

      Cons

Unit4 is spread out globally so you might not meet a lot of people you work with in person (less of an issue in lockdown); on a 'change journey' which can be hard on people, even though we are going in the right direction

Don't expect to get near your target

Oct 11, 2019 - Business Development Manager in Reading, England, England

      Pros

Good benefits for staff Flexible working Nice offices which have seen investment.

      Cons

No sales people are anywhere the number, if you are thinking about going here, get a large basic. The sales leadership is stuck in the 80's, expect weekly or even daily deal reviews as they get nearer the end of the month The owners have sucked all the life out, it's all short term revenue at any costs, deals will be slashed, pulled from one quarter to the other and generally messed about with, all outside the control of the sales person. Expect to earn no commission. Senior management are all used to working somewhere with miles more resource, the "shout and make it so" doesn't work in a tier 2 company starved of investment. The pre-sales team are extremely under staffed, don't expect much support if your opp isn't one of the biggest on the pipeline. Account management and New Business now different teams with different reporting lines, so don't expect and help from either side. References are like gold dust, customer aren't very happy. Cloud solutions struggle to compete with other vendors, although this is getting better. Sales structure is messed up, there are at least 5 sales teams now, covering inside side, Prevero sales, Account Management, business development and Digital sales.

Trusted to carry out your role without micro management Great work life balance with a flexible working environment, whether that's working from home or flexing up core hours Fast paced business with lots of positive change happening Good company size ready to scale meaning you get recognised, can make an impact With growth happening there will be opportunity to progress internally around the organisation globally

      Cons

Change brings a lot of hard work and challenges so if you're not keen on this, Unit4 won't be best for you!

      Education Vertical Account Management Role

Mar 10, 2018 - Sales Account Manager in London, England, England
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Company invests time and money in training, development, community efforts, health and wellbeing and social events. Sector Account Management team share positive ethos around Education, have the ability to take this in to Universities and Colleges and help them improve through better use of technology. New technology in products, developing all the time. Initially slow to get off the ground, but now flying and a very impressive system. Supportive team leader, without micro managing. Great cross-company colleagues (world-wide) that support in all aspects of the role. Very good pay and bonus scheme - achieved over 100% last year. Quarterly and annual incentives to do well. Flexible working , home based a great deal of the time with opportunity to travel home and overseas.

      Cons

Structural change has left some negative feeling with a few colleagues - 'it's not how it used to be'. However, most are positive and motivated to work together in new ways.

The goose is dead and there

Aug 15, 2015 - Anonymous Employee in Bristol, England, England

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Flexible work and chance to shape your own job. Some interesting technology going forward.

      Cons

The company is being transformed from an engineering company where employees are trusted and valued , into a company that is being run like a call center where employees are treated like disposable commodities and spending on staff s reduced to the minimum. Costs are being slashed across the board with mass layoffs in high cost locations with the work being passed to straight-out-of school new hires in low cost areas like Poland and Spain. Salary and benefits are not generous, especially in locations where the local employment conditions allow them to pay bottom dollar, and there are no profit sharing or stock option bonus schemes like you see in other large, global companies. Avoid if you have other alternatives. I wonder if the recent glowing 5 star reviews are from folks who work in corporate HR;)
