    Advice to Management

Research services and ERIO need to reflect on their management style. People leave for lack of opportunities, bad procedures and bad line managers

I have been working at University College London full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible working
    Working from home
Freedom to choose your own projects

    Cons

-If you are are in a STEM/business discipline the salary is too low compared to likeminded universities (Imperial october 2018 is boosting all academic salaries up to keep up with the competition). Likewise our grads salaries are likely to be at least 30% more than the salary of a lecturer.
-Proffessional services staff are incompetent. Three weeks to get a a 1 manned costing model is a joke. There is no control over their workload so do as they please.
-In general academia suffers from good resource management thus academics struggle with their time management.

    Advice to Management

Reform academic salaries - look at Imperial's approach
Streamline professional services - there are more PFS staff than academic
    Reduce your overheads
