I worked at University College London full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Many nice academic colleagues.

    Cons

The management is getting worse: too many micro-management. The work load including teaching, marking and administrative role is quite high. Get promoted is difficult.

I have been working at University College London full-time

    Pros

Good work/life balance, pension still better than most.

    Cons

Senior management consistently try to adopt (out of date) business practices in an attempt to improve efficiency/productivity, with broadly poor results.

    Advice to Management

UCL was founded in 1826. The average lifespan of a company is less than 20 years. This is not something to which one should aspire.
