I worked at University of Birmingham full-time (More than 3 years)
A highly ranked university, access to a lot of equipment
as a PhD student, don't get supervision often enough, in my particular department (met and mat)
I have been working at University of Birmingham as a contractor (More than a year)
Flexible hours, with challenging and engaging work with undergraduates and faculty.
Interesting topics to cover and good lab infrastructure.
Good pay rate.
There is not a guarantee of employment, as it depends on the modules being offered in a particular term.
Sometimes the modules take more time to prepare than anticipated.
Advice to Management

I have been working at University of Birmingham full-time (More than 3 years)
Beautiful campus, good collaborations with industry, world class research, nice staff, flexible hours, plenty of opportunities to learn and develop
Research funding shortage, not many academic opportunities available, the reputation was declining but I hope it will recover soon
