      Pros

Highly flexible, laid back, good benefits, job security (at least, to within the known limits of your contract duration)

      Cons

Low salary relative to the sky-high cost of living in Cambridge, and compared to similar roles at other institutions. More generally, while you are surrounded by the cleverest (and often nicest!) people on the planet, the academics are basically god-like. The rest of us mere mortals are subservient in all ways to those deities, and there is obviously no hope of ever joining their elite ranks. The place is lead by academics, for academics. Clearly this is going to lead to the best university in the world, but it can be a little soul destroying for those who want a career where they too can make a difference to the world, rather than just grease the wheels for the chosen few.
