I worked at University of Edinburgh full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The school of informatics has been ranked the best in the UK. There are noble prize winners in the university. The staff and also people in the city are welcoming. The quality of life is high compared to London.

    Cons

The weather is usually chilly with rare sunshines. Flying from Edinburgh is not as good as flights from London of course.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at University of Edinburgh full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Multicultural and stimulating environment. I was working in one of the main campus (Kings' Building) which has lot of different facilities and department easily accessible for everyone that want to initiate a collaboration or try something new in their research. Highly collaborative and open minded.

    Cons

Some of the Principal Investigators working at the University are very demanding and put lot of pressure on their employees. Not much flexibility allowed in term of working hours/daily. But it's all depending on your PI.
