    Pros

    Good work-life balance and employment benefits.

    Cons

    University senior managers want the latest shiny thing but does not invest long term in IT innovations, support or allocate sufficient resources to IT projects. A lack of opportunities for progression and promotion.

    Advice to Management

    Be less risk adverse and trust good people to do their job and provide adequate management and IT support.

    I worked at University of Glasgow part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good structure in terms of it being a reputable university and has a few benefits such as a good pension scheme etc

    Cons

    Many of the employees I worked with were there for a very long time, she 25 years plus and i felt this made them against changes and new ideas which made my job very frustrating at times.

    Excellent salary and benefits. Fulfilling work. Opportunity for travel within research roles, funding dependent.

    Cons

    Compulsory teaching requirements can be a hindrance to research positions, especially when on a short-term contract.

    Good Location and you get to work with some very nice people

    Cons

    The most toxic of environments save yourself the heartache, wide spread bullying and intimidation.

    Advice to Management

    Respect and Dignity you have to be joking
