I have been working at University of Glasgow part-time

    Pros

First Class university, Have learned the importance of engineering in almost all aspects of life and how to apply my knowledge to industry.
    New labs are fantastic.

    Cons

Needs more links with industry, tough to find work experience on your own.
Needs to be more practicall, sometimes just feel like all you do is theory.

    Advice to Management

Just need to listen to students more. But there are times where there are liasons between staff and students and feedback is given.
On the whole it is a fantastic university.

    Pros

Friendly hard working people. Modern office environment fresh and new. Amazing view.

    Cons

Lack facilities of main campus. Parking. Lunch areas uncomfortable and too close to work area. No internal cafe like main campus. Staff work very hard but do not tend to socialise at breaks which is very sad. Many people sitting alone at lunch times.

    Advice to Management

More activities to encourage staff to mix accross areas and levels including temporary staff. Many are demoralised by the move, sad that good people have left as a result. I did not get the impression that staff felt their views where taken into consideration regarding the move or the utilisation of the new work space.
