I worked at University of Great Falls full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful, picturesque Montana location. Relatively safe town. University's Mission Statement and values and foundation are all good. Students are great!

    Cons

This university is carefully micromanaged by the University President. Everyone walks on eggshells around him. Upper management tries to control/ manipulate all aspects of operations, including people (staff, faculty, students). If you disagree with management, you will soon be told you are no longer a "good fit" for the university.

    Advice to Management

Have a system of checks and balances for upper management!

I have been working at University of Great Falls part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Challenging environment full of support and opportunity.

    Cons

Political leveraging can buoy or sink employees and, on a campus this size, alternative routes aren't readily accessible.

    Advice to Management

Development in the areas of information exchange and transparency will continue to bolster morale.
