I have been working at University of Leicester full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The university is well-located very close to an attractive city centre that does not seem to have been blighted by too many monstrous 1960's excrescences. The University is on the upswing with a very promising new Principal (Vice-Chancellor and President) just about to start, following a predecessor who was the last word in ineptitude.

    Cons

Money is tight and the University will have to live with the legacy of some bad appointments until time washes their effects away.

    Advice to Management

Do not over-pay yourself when you have not done a very good job. Things like diversity involve more than tick-box exercises to get accreditations or charters.

I worked at University of Leicester part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible working hours as you can choose your shifts, as well as a variety of shifts available to work on!

    Cons

Would often apply for shifts but wouldn't get them despite management saying that they would assign shifts fairly. I'm not sure this was the case as some ambassadors would regularly work more than others.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at University of Leicester full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Leicester is good place to live in, cheap, multi-culture, and people are friendly

    Cons

Heavily over time working, no respect of your contribution, no fairness, just politics. No support for junior staff at all.

    Advice to Management

The hierarchy of the university are more keen on keeping their position instead of contribution to the university.
