I have been working at University of Liverpool full-time

    Pros

    Salary is okay
    Location is central in Liverpool

    Cons

Academics treat Professional Services very poorly, which is reinforced by PS colleagues on a high grade to advance own career.
Departments are poorly run as Academics don't understand how to run day to day operations but lead areas.
Overall, very poor organisation to work

    Advice to Management

Continuing to treat PS staff so poorly will just lead to a higher turnover of staff

    Pros

Very friendly and a great city to live in. University has some of the best ongoing research in certain fields and often secures funding to continue research. Facilities are mostly good and access to them is also good.

    Cons

The organisation of admin at the University is poor and things will often get lost in the system or take much longer than they should. Communication between departments can also be poor and it can again result in delays.
