I worked at University of Liverpool full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Progressive and supportive organisation. Great training and development. Progression opportunities. Great people. Fair pay.

    Cons

Fixed term contracts in some departments make it difficult to sustain a long-term career unless permanent positions are available to apply for at the time. No other cons - great place to work!

    Advice to Management

    None.

I have been working at University of Liverpool part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

better salary than other U.K universities friendly people

    Cons

I've worked in two departments over the last 4 years. Previous department was great in terms of flexible working, working from home and manager was great at her job. Current department is the complete opposite - no autonomy, no trust and no working from home.

    Advice to Management

Make sure all line managers are consistent in their approach throughout the University.

I have been working at University of Liverpool full-time for more than 19 years

    Pros

    Good support of academic freedom

    Cons

Not enough car parking. More sandwich bars needed.

    Advice to Management

Try to value all staff and resist forcing staff to leave if they don't have enough publications. Better to help them get back on track with their research. People are are most precious resource.
