1. Red brick University- The quality of students, staff, salary, environment etc are always better than what one would expect from any other academic institution in the country. 2. Good work life balance - No unnecessary burden of teaching/ admin work just for the sake of it. People are generally happy to work in the University 3. Location - Liverpool is friendly and extremely affordable

The downsides are similar to what one would expect from most academic Universities in England. Increased teaching commitments, less research time, increasing research costs, lack of core financial support etc
